Dr Patrick Aouad
Dr Aouad is a consultant specialist neurologist, CEO and co-founder of CU Health. His role on the clinical leadership committee is to provide oversight and strategic guidance to ensure that CU Health stays on track as the most safe, credible, and comprehensive virtual healthcare service in Australia.
Pat has worked in the public and private hospital system and beyond his work in general neurology, has subspeciality expertise in multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunology. Pat has been the recipient of many awards throughout his career and is internationally published in numerous medical journals. He sits on the Medical Advisory Committee of North Shore Private Hospital as the director of medicine and is appointed at the University of Sydney as a research fellow. He is the founder and lead presenter for Physician Central, an organisation dedicated to the education of medical specialists.
Pat is an experienced healthcare company director as a co-founder and managing director of Loxley Health, prior to co-founding CU Health. In addition to his other work, Pat advises global biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.
Pat has a Bachelor of Medical Science, a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, a Master of Philosophy from the faculty of medicine in the field of stroke and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians. He is passionate about improving patient outcomes, and equitable access to medicines and healthcare. When he is not working, he is with his family, spending time with his three young children.
